WHY CATS?
Zippurrcats gained their names from more than just their long tails and cat like behavoir. These creatures have a skeletal struture that matches closely to the common felines. With their floating shoulder and hip bones they can more easily stretch out their limbs. Their ribs can collapse inward for them to squeeze through and into tighter spaces as to hide or get alone time. They are also excellent climbers and can actually just as easily make it down a tree as they went up it.
EATING HABITS AND DIGESTION
+WHY STITCHES?
Zippurrcats actually have a disgustingly large apetite. They do not know how to say no to food.
They eat literaly anything and everything and the stitching helps to slow that big apetite down.
They can also open their mouth a full 180 degrees and can swallow a grown bear whole.
Though it will leave them miserable for a few days mind you until they digest their meal enough to be able
regurgitate the bones and unnecessary parts for them. They regurgitate as zippurrcats for whatever reason
do not or possibly can not defecate. But even if they did it would probably be unlike any normal animals.
Something suprisingly clean and colorful, dusted with glitter and sparkles. Like a cupcakes frosting maybe?
DIET
As stated above they eat literaly anything and everything.
But more than anything they love sweets and/or sweeter foods.
ZIPPER STRENGTH AND CAPABILITIES
Zippurrcat's are covered in strong thick zippers that are very difficult to open unlessof course the cat wishes them to be unzipped. So unzipping, despite how easy it looks, is actually impossible without the hosts permission. The material that the zippers are made out of is actually capable of breaking bullets on contact and will suffer no ill side effects from doing so. They do however need a good polish every now and then.Though zippurrcats would more often rather not for more secretive reasons.
The Flowering variations zippers, ZAG, are able to open and close on their own without being unzipped as they
work like mouths. These zippers are capable of biting an arm clean off and have no trouble doing so. This is why Flowering are considered the venus flytraps of the zippurrcats species. Bone to them is like a cracker, soft but still makes a crunching or snapping sound.
TEETH
These creatues start teething when born and pretty much carry on the habit throughout their lives. Each grow diffrent sets and types of, usually, sharp teethand if they every break or fall out they will grow new ones. This can happen any number of times as they will still grow back just the same much like a sharks teeth. In some cases they will have a second row of teeth with the same capabilities and properties and this surprisingly is not that rare.
SOUNDS
Not only are they capable of human speech and fluent in various languages and tongues.
Zippurrcats are also able to make a vast number of animal sounds most pertaining to that of, of course, cats.
Meows, hisses, growls and soft purrs are their most common. When frustrated they will start to chirp or gecker like a fox. Where as when amused they will in some cases cackle or make laughing noises like a hyena. If they are in the mood they will screech and yowl to assert dominance. This however is rather rare as they normally do not care about rankings or 'whose over who' on scales of dominance.
IMMORTAL STATUS AND REGENERATIVE PROPERTIES
Zippurrcats are incapable of death. They have limited regenerative properties however and cannot regrow limbs but can easily attach new ones to useas their own. This is also why you will find them stealing new organs as to replace their diminished or destroyed ones. They can still feel pain. And a bad working limb, organ or body part will bring on discomfort. If a limb is still attatched but bone is showing they can and will still use it as it will
never become necessarily infected and work just as well as it always has. In most cases flesh will grown back to heal over the bone, but in rarer cases it will never heal and stay just as is. But again it may bring on discomfort and some zippurrcats will disessemble themselves just to get a newer and better one, whether it matches their usual fur colors and patterns or not. This works the same with organs, as they are willing to take on any as long as they work well for them even if it means their lungs, heart, and guts are each a different color or hue.
MOSTLY NOCTURNAL
Though brighter and more color overwhelming fur palettes suggest otherwise, zippurrcats are mostly nocturnal. They
have acute vision in the dark and actually prefer to be active during those times or atleast in darker places. These creatures were made to thrive in the dark as their noses, zippers, pawpads, gums, insides, eyes, and fluids all glow due to them being bioluminescent. For some they will have flecks in their fur that act in the same way. This sometimes helps attract light loving prey to make it easier to hunt.
Sunlight for zippurrcats is actually a bad thing. During the day they are prone to being more skiddish and may run around with their back hunched over like a hyenas. Whereas at night they are speedy and can be compared to a cheetah at its top speed. Some dare to stay out in the heat even though it causes them skin irritation and in worse case scenarios hideous rashes and sores.
UNHAPPY AND/OR DISORIENTED
Unhappy zippurrcats will limp around as if they are injured and will lose all saturation in their eyes. Their fur will sometimes become more ashy or greyed out to match and the stress can lead to shedding heavy amounts of fur. A bad mood will also bring on nausea along with ocassional headaches and can lead to them vomiting. Unlike every other animals version of getting sick they will vomit up blood as well as complete internal organs. In rarer cases with the stomach being vomited, if they have kits developed inside them, they will vomit them out too. The creature's bioluminescence will fade to near nothing of a glow and heavy weather such as rain and storms seems to follow wherever they may go.
HUMANOID FORMS
Zippurrcats are capable of changing to a more human form in one of two ways.
-
Way one is they go through a painful sort of bone dislocating and rearranging inside of them process like a werewolf would. All of their fur falling out, except for head hair or wherever wanted or needed. Tail and ears usually staying with them as the tail bones have no place to go and the ears have no bone to make the changing it around possible.
Their skin tone, hair, fur etcetera will match closely with their original pallete.
(ex: blue zippurrcat, blue skin maybe with pattern but not necessary)
-
Or way two where they use magic which is not a trait they all carry, but the ones that do can take to a more
human form. Their skin can be a naturaltone and they can go without tail and have human ears rather than taill pointed zippurrcat ears. Either way they will maintain their zippers on their body as no amount of magic can urge or hide them away and it is also highly likely that they will have a shark toothed grin either way as well.
MAGIC?
Zippurrcats are capable of varying levels and types of magic.
